Denise, Director

The Men's Emporium opened its door back in 2006 solely by Denise and her vision to bring male grooming into her home city of Aberdeen. Starting off in the industry as a Ladies Hairdresser in the 80s, she began her journey at the age of 14 as a Saturday girl at her local hairdresser. Having more of an interest in the male hairdressing side when she was working at a unisex salon, Denise always knew her passion for being a stylist would drive her towards the world of barbering. Now, at 58 years young, Denise has over 40 years experience and has learnt everything there is to know within the industry.

When instore, Denise prides herself in welcoming new and old faces into her salon and her natural ability has always been to make sure that her clients are feeling good about themselves within their head as well as on top of it. A famous quote that naturally echoes throughout the shop week in week out is, "I'll promise that I'll make you look and feel better than you already were before you came in", this is a stance Denise lives by as she cares about every individuals headspace as mental well-being is something that she has always advocated for.

Denise was the firestarter to the industry within Aberdeen which has lit up over the last decade, that being the modern Barbering scene of today. With previous experiences in the Diet & Fitness industry, her counsilling nature along with her array of Male Grooming and Beauty services can ensure any person will feel happy and confident going to any specific occasion.

Having watched her vision come to life throughout the years and building her salon into the leading Barbershop within the North-East, Denise has won countless individual awards nationwide and also seen her shop win Best Barbers at The Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards 2016 & 2017. The most recent accolades came in 2019 at The North-East Hair & Beauty awards as Denise and her team won "Best Barbers North-East"Best Lady Barber SCOTLAND 2021-22 as well as "Best Male-Grooming Salon".

Kamil, Self Employed

Kamil is up there with some of the top Barbers in Scotland, having helped us win numerous awards nationwide along with a bundle of individual awards that he's added to his impressive resime since moving to Scotland nearly 12 years ago. Having nearly spent 10 of those years working with us at The Men's Emporium Kamil has established himself as the benchmark for all barbers in Aberdeen.

"At The Men's Emporium we are proud of our shop that we've been in ever since the business first opened its doors back in 2006, Kamil has played a large part in the devopment and growth of our little shop since his first day and in the last few years has even helped me with the interior design of the shop. He's helped upcycle old materials and turned them into cool and sought after designs that really blend into the look of our shop. I can't thank Kamil enough for all the work and effort he's put into The Men's Emporium over the years and it's even better that he's loved spending time designing parts of the shop in his spare time." Denise said after reflecting back on Kamil's service to the shop over the years.

With Kamil there is nothing he can't do, he currently works self employed and with 15 years of experience and a high profile clientele he continues to welcome all guests into his chair.
